Adventure Book Reflection
Our class made vignette books that were inspired by The House on Mango Street. Our first vignette was a biography, then a poem, then an adventure from the past, present and future. We wanted to make the books feeling as authentic as possible by adding reviews from other classmates on it. My favorite excerpt was the poem. It gave us so much freedom, and I don't even like poetry that much. The vignettes taught me that you can make a book as real as you want without actually publishing it. Some of the vignettes look like real books which is crazy to me.Here is the poem I made:
A Different Age
I’m from A Different Age.
An age where stars are the perfect silence.
An age where the sword is mightier than the pen.
An age where the leap of faith doesn’t exist
An age on the brink.
An age with no direction, no responsibility, no cause.
An age that is creeping towards the edge.
An age that does not thrive on money, power, or fame.
You can’t hear me.
Because I speak to a different age.
And you should fear me.
Because I believe in a different age.
